HSBC has come up with Expat Explorer, a site letting you know the best countries in which to be an expat based on a survey the bank has now commissioned for three years in a row. The survey ranks countries in a league table using three categories: economics (Russia was in the no.1 spot), experience (Spain took the top position) and offspring (Belgium was the leader here).
Unfortunately, Sweden was not included in the study. In fact, none of the Nordic countries were. And I have a sneaking suspicion that this might be because they tend to come top in the majority of these surveys. I think HSBC just wanted to give other countries a fair shot at the prize!
