I am terribly behind on catching up on my Instagram moments, I can see. It’s halfway through August now and I haven’t even managed to tell you about our trip up to London until now.
We took the boys to the Natural History Museum, which they loved, of course. Because dinosaurs.
This is E demonstrating the noise that the animatronic T-Rex made. He looks happy enough here, but he and Husband were ahead of us as we went into that section and all I could hear was E crying and begging his pappa to get him through the crowds and away from the dinosaur. Ask him afterwards though and the T-Rex was one of the best things he saw.
After a quick visit to see the Houses of Parliament, the boys headed back with my mum, and Husband and I stayed on for a night away.
We ended up walking until we couldn’t any more that afternoon, then did the same again the next day before returning to meet O and E. Of course, they had had so much fun that they were largely oblivious to the fact that we’d been away overnight. Neither of them wanted to come along on the drive to the station to meet us.
After that we headed to my hometown, Reigate, for a few days.
It often slips my mind that the town actually has a castle but this time I remembered and was able to show the remaining (rebuilt) tower to the boys.
And the boys love going on the Box Hill Natural Play Trail, climbing trees and swinging on ropes and doing all the things that we used to do when we went to the woods.
We left the UK behind at the end of June and headed back to a week of work before we started on our European roadtrip of the summer.
