I am slowly but surely processing the thousand or so photos that I took during our “big trip” in July. Sorting through and editing them is something of a task, but a fun one, helping me relive the holiday again and again through these Instagram moments.
The initial part of our tour was a train journey from Stockholm down to Malmö to visit Husband’s family. I’ve done this trip before by train, but this time we went on Snälltåget and booked a cabin for ourselves. The trains are certainly older than SJ’s smarter fleet, but having our own cabin made such a difference.
The boys were thrilled that while we were there we were able to attend the filming of Sommarlov, SVT’s live summer programme for children. We saw the three hosts (team Rijal!), watched an acrobatics display and – the highlight – got to dance along with the Bolibompa dragon.
We also managed to enjoy some great food while in Malmö, both at home and out. I can highly recommend Bord 13 in the city centre. It also helps that my brother-in-law is a superb cook, especially when he invites us over for a barbecue.
After waving goodbye to Husband’s family, we headed south to Zagreb to start the rest of our big adventure.
