I love the autumn. I think it is my favourite season. The beautiful colours of the leaves falling, the slightly nip in the air, snuggling up inside a great big cosy jumper.
My skin, though, does not like it. Not one bit. Every October, without fail, it has a small breakdown. Or break-out. The skin on my forehead could keep the oil industry afloat, while it simultaneously becomes dry and flaky.
After a little hit and miss, though, I’ve found my autumn skincare savers.
Nimue Anti-Ageing Leave On Mask: I try to use this leave-on mask once a week and love how my skin feels after. I just need to remember to use it on nights when my hair will be washed the next day – otherwise it does tend to make my fringe a little greasy.
Nimue Sun-C SPF 40: Love, love, love this. And being SPF 40, it makes me feel that I am doing something right [polishes halo]. This sinks into the skin so beautifully and doesn’t have a strong scent. I think I will weep if Nimue ever discontinues this product.
Le Weekend de Chanel: I have all three of the Chanel serums (Le Jour, La Nuit and Le Weekend) and this one might just be my favourite. It gives a lovely little tingling feeling when you apply it, which just makes me feel like it’s really doing its job.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate: This is a new discovery (thanks to Nathalie Rajic‘s Instagram feed) and I am so glad that I went out and bought it. It has a wonderful lavender scent that makes me feel sleepy, which can only be a good thing in an overnight oil. I use this after Chanel’s La Nuit serum and before either of the Nimue moisturisers and my skin feels so soft the next morning.
Nimue Element Barrier: This is an essential in the Swedish autumn and winter. A little bit of this on the forehead, nose and chin before make-up goes a long way to protecting my skin from the weather.
These products combined are my autumn skincare savers.
